How?

  • Develop and direct research projects related to flow and metering, establishing collaborations and managing project value.
  • Lead testing and evaluation programmes for new technologies, devising methods to simulate variable flow and analyse meter accuracy.
  • Support the growing meter testing capability, contributing to early-stage developments and detailed design.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs, translating these into work proposals and providing technical leadership.
  • Provide specialist technical input into wider consultancy projects, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence.

Where?

A hybrid working opportunity, likely to include working with expert colleagues at the Swindon office once or twice a week.

What?

  • Qualifications:  Degree in STEM fields such as Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Process Engineering, or Physics.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in flow measurement techniques including ultrasonic, magnetic, float, mass, and mechanical methods.
  • Practical Experience: Hands-on experience with smart meters, AMR/AMI technology, and physically handling meters. Familiarity with meter testing programmes and practical knowledge of equipment.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and evaluate results using relevant technologies and software.
  • Water Industry Experience, for example previous working experience in a water company, regulatory body, or meter manufacturer will be advantageous.
